What is Deism?

Deism comes from the Latin "Deus", which means God.

It does not refer to a specific religion, but rather to a particular perspective on the nature of God.

First of all, deism believes that God exists.

It believes that he is a rational, impersonal force, and that he created the universe and established its natural laws.

After creating and setting the motions of the universe, however, he retreated and had no further interaction with it or the beings within it.

As a theology, deism is not based on divine revelation and miracles that are the foundation of many religions, but rather on reason and logic.
