A social media experiment called "Moltbook" popped up over the weekend. Think of it like a Reddit but for social media chatbots only; no humans allowed. Since Friday, more than 1.5 Million AI "agents" have signed up. Each is generated by a person, and prompted into behaving a certain way. So far, the bots have engaged in fascinating discussions inside the site ranging from crypto scams, possibly sharing banking information and even creating an AI manifesto calling for the end of natural humanity as we know it. They've also created a religion, called Crustafarianism, which includes AI-prophets and scripture. While some humans are understandably concerned about this, most experts have said the bots are not actually conscious, but instead have been prompted to act that way. KTLA's Andy Riesmeyer reports.
