what's the difference of Mh4 in mh4g/mh4u

things have Mh4g and Mh4u that dont have or missing in mh4::

- G Rank quests and monsters, which mean a whole new set of armors for existing monsters

- Old desert map, which also introduces new monsters into high rank

- Charge axes and Insect glaives can be excavated now

- Guild quests go up to level 140 now

- Extreme state monsters such as Rajang, where they gain more attacks, are stronger and become tougher

- Ability to cancel monsters out of the frenzy state using purification stones(you use them, and they act as a buff). Repeatedly smack the target and eventually they break out of frenzy, temporarily

- New town to go to, which includes G rank guild hall and the frenzy virus research center, which produces items such as large life powder(increased effect)

- It is now possible to obtain multiple guild quests at the end of 1 expedition trip

- New felyne comrade types, jump and beast, as well as new felyne skills and some new food skills too.

- New charge axes and insect glaives can be crafted to make up for the lack of them in mh4

- New movements for various weapons, most notably charge axe and dual blades

- Weapons with unique new abilities, such as seregios blademaster weapons that sharpen via rolling

- Crafted weapons can undergo extreme upgrading, where you get to boost 1 of 3 parameters: atk up, def up or life recovery, reducing the advantage excavated weapons have in the game and balancing it.

- New armor skills

- Battle town, where there are some defense type quests, e.g. againsy extreme tigrex, where you have access to things like a mobile cannon that can load 10 cannon balls

- Extended village quests that go up to 10 *, which goes into high Rank and G Rank

It's more than just "DLC". You might be reluctant to get the game since you've gone through mh4, but there is much more content in this game, such that I believe it to be worth getting.

And of course, this is too much to call DLC. They might even have changed some systems internally so you can't think of it as simply an expansion.

Lastly, almost all your data in mh4 can be transferred over, so rest assured. Guild quests can't be transferred, but there are G rank expeditions that get you lv90~120 guild quests, so no need to worry about that.
