FLAMING HOT Prehistoric CLAY Pot - FIRST Time Challenge Halal Food Krabi, Ao Nang, Thailand

First time cooking and eating from a coal flaming prehistoric hot pot and I make a butchered attempt at cooking at my dinner table in public. I was all alone on this cooking extravaganza with no support from any Thai locals. I think I should have went here with an expert foodie in this field. Please join me as I embarrass myself more than anyone in Youtube history! After walking into an unknown restaurant called Sakeereen Halal Food in Ao Nang, Thailand.

⁸After figuring out how to get inside and removing the super hot top of the massive hot pot cooking over extremely hot coals the challenge began. I began to put all of the green/white onions, green veggies, yellow veggies, orange carrots, grey fresh succulent shrimp, juicy chicken slowly into the steaming boiling historic clay pot. I let everything stew for a bit but had no idea of a timeline or timer for how long I should have waited. I ended up with a watery home made stew made by @bouncingplaces and the internal temperatures of everything appeared to be cooked past the danger zone!

I'll never forget my first bite after all that hard work filming and learning how to cook primitively. It was extra sweet and just spicy enough. Exactly how I like it. I never ended up finishing it all as there was enough for a whole village tribe.

In all reality it was basically just a boiling bowl of water and all I had to do was boil my food just like you would at home over a stove. But for some reason tonight I had a brain fart and looked like I had never made a home cooked meal ever before in my adult life. I finally decided to dive in and pray that I didn't get food poisoning and that everything my mother and father taught me about cooking would allow me to conquer this feat and keep me safe!

I felt like I was living in the 1800's in this restaurant as I feel like this has been a traditional way of cooking for a very long time. It made me feel like I should have been enjoying this meal off the beaten path out in a hidden village or something. Maybe a future episode idea!

After talking to a couple of Thai locals about my chicken and shrimp set that I ordered and telling them how satisfied I was of my decision it was time to saddle up.

I met the owner/chef and I was nervous to pay as I made a huge mistake walking in here and forgot to ask the cost before siting down and embarking on this food adventure. The total cost of this incredible eating experience was only $119 Baht which I'm very sure was the local price not the up sale foreigner price which made me feel like I was part of the family!
