How to check the RAM type DDR3 or DDR4 in Windows 10 / Windows 7 / 8

If your pc is running slower, freezing or showing waiting sign always on every action. you might need more memory. but before buying new memory you need to know exactly what type of ram your PC/Laptop supports.


So in this video we are going to learn variety of quick ways to check how much and what type of ram you have like ddr3 or ddr4.

First method is very simple, to get your system ram information. Go to task manager and click on memory tab here you can see how much total ram is installed in your pc, as you can see for my laptop its showing 32GB but still i am not able to see memory type.

So lets see second method to see complete detail of your computer memory.
In order to get complete details of your memory we will use a small utility called CPU-Z its free and easy to use. it gives you all kind of information not only type of ram you use but also the model of the CPU, motherboard and graphics.
So lets download this utility .. go to google and type cpu-z and here you can download this from official website .. run executable file and lets run this utility and here you can

Navigate to the “Memory” tab to view how many slots your PC has, installed memory type (DDR, DDR2, DDR3, etc.), and RAM size (GB). You’ll also see real-time information on the RAM’s running frequency plus a detailed breakdown of latency and clock speeds,
The SPD tab also has useful info, but you have to pick the slots in which your memory is installed to get data.
