Hi, welcome to deaf talk news.
On June 12, 2025, an Air India flight AI-171, flying from London to Ahmedabad, faced an accident.
At that last minute the pilot announced a Mayday, Mayday, Mayday just before crashing.
What is that ? Why did they say Mayday ? Let me explain.
Mayday is the last word pilots always use if flight is in danger.
If the Pilot announces Mayday all other flights in the air also airport should be diverted and complete focus will be on the dangerous flight.
Unfortunately, the Air India flight crash-landed near Ahmedabad Airport.
The accident has shocked people all over the country.
Right now, investigations are still going on, and the first report has been released.
We at Deaf Talks have already posted a special report on this incident.
If you missed it, please go back and watch it on our channel to understand what happened.
Now, after this shocking incident, more information has come out from DGCA.
DGCA – Directorate General of Civil Aviation, they said between 2020 and 2025, there were 65 serious engine failure incidents in flights operating in India.
In all these cases, pilots landed the planes safely at the nearest airports.
Still, these engine problems show that airlines in India are facing regular technical risks.
That’s a big concern!
These problems are mostly due to poor maintenance of old airplanes.
From January 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025, pilots made 11 Mayday calls.
Pilots are doing an excellent job in handling the emergencies, but we cannot always depend only on their skill.
So the aviation ministry is going to change more safety rules.
This is a good initiative.
We at Deaf Talks will continue to bring you the latest updates on aviation safety.
