A couple of folk have asked me how they should install tartan or cloth ribbons on the drones of their bagpipes.
Here's one way - and as usual I forgot to mention that
a) Drone ribbons are almost always mounted OVER the wool or silk cords which hold the 3 drones in place (I went full-on 'retro' - my drones are held by the ribbons alone - no cords - if for no other reason than it saves a bit of weight) and
b) I forgot to instruct you to remove the white cotton basting-threads once your ribbons are mounted on the drones!
