TT Archive - The Eaton's Special

Описание к видео TT Archive - The Eaton's Special

The Eaton's Special was an operation chartered by the Eaton's Company where Gray Coach and then TTC buses would ferry passengers between Eaton's Queen Street and College Street stores. The service operated from October 30, 1930 into the 1970s, with the Eaton's company arranging a nostalgia service during its Hail & Farewell Sale celebrating the pending closure of its Queen Street store ahead of the opening of the Eaton's Centre in February 1977. Richard Glaze was able to chronicle the operations of this unique service, giving us a view of downtown Toronto and Yonge Street not seen in over 45 years.
