$2,000 CUSTOM Headache Rack Was A Literal HEADACHE

Описание к видео $2,000 CUSTOM Headache Rack Was A Literal HEADACHE

Spending almost two grand on a headache rack shouldn't give you a real headache...but this one did!

We talk about what happened and what you need to know before YOU order a custom truck headache rack.

Q: Why aren't you mentioning the name of the company?
A: Eh, if the product was garbage I probably would as a warning to stay away, but the truth is, aside from one P that has some loose rivets and slides a little (I mean a fraction of an inch or so), the final product seems 100% perfect. It looks like a great product by a solid company with some issues in their ordering process that in all honesty they may not have run into before, or may have just been the first time the individuals I was dealing with ran into. Anyone who IS interested in this type of product will not have to look hard to figure out who the company is, and they can base their decision on what I found. At the same time, this video also serves as feedback to that company to address the pain points I had as a customer so it doesn't reoccur for future clients.

Q: Why did you spend so much money on this? Stickers are so much cheaper!
A: I agree! I think it cost me $600-ish to put stickers all over a 5x10 enclosed trailer AND my old Chevy Colorado. But I don't want stickers on this truck. I use it for pulling our personal RV, so having it be a walking billboard posed a few different issues during travels. Second, I REALLY like the sleek black look of this truck and don't want stickers to ruin it. Lastly, anyone who is interested in my services only needs the company name to look me up. I decided to spend so much money on this for the looks, the function, and the 'stand out in a crowd'-ness of it. I have NEVER seen another company with one of these things before, and I think it catches people's eyes. I might be wrong though! Wouldn't be the first time.

Q: I, my buddy, the guy I use for welding, or some guy down the road who runs an autobody shop out of his basement could have done that for $500.
A: Great! I wish you/your buddy/your guy/some guy would have had a better online presence so I could have found them when I was doing my research.

Q: You EASILY could have made that yourself for pennies compared to what you spent.
A: You and I have different ideas of 'easily'. I have no interest in welding, metal fabrication, or powder coating. And I guarantee I could not have done this myself.

Q: You must have more money than sense.
A: Actually, I don't have much of either, but I think I get what you are saying. Yeah, for most people there are probably a lot better ways to spend $2,000. For me the marketing, aesthetic, function, and safety improvements all combined to be something that I didn't mind dropping the cash on, especially since it is a business write-off (small tax savings), something that would help the business (no marketing on the truck before this), and just looks sweet (in my opinion). Plus I am finding I like making this big truck of mine look bigger and meaner, and this does it!

Q: Are you ever going to make videos of actual work? All you do is talk about stuff.
A: This year has not given me as many work projects as normal. I do have a few new things I am working on for Fall/Winter, but until then I fill the gaps talking about products or business topics. No harm if it isn't your favorite thing to watch, I understand!
