Growing up in a large family in Kibra, (Kibera) Cathy was daddy’s girl. A bright student, she secured a scholarship to study at a renown national school. She was on her way to achieving a dream of working in media and her star was rising. However, a pregnancy while still in high school threatened to shatter this dream and her future.
Cathy shares how she dealt with disappointment, being a teen mum and getting back on track. The support she received gave her a 2nd chance in a place that rarely affords a 1st chance to its residents. This is a story of love, resilience and gratitude.
