Marantz CD50 - CD Player or DAC (SPDIF)

Marantz CD50 working as a DAC connected to a streamer, or working as an usual CD player.

I've used an adapter board to commute between the I2S signals, and for I2S input interface, I have chosen a board with DIR9001 receiver.

The CD player can operate in Over Sampling or Non Oversampling mode. The additional I2S input is automatically selected when the CD player is in STOP or PAUSE - as shown in the video.

This modification is very convenient for having one CD player and one DAC in the same box.

If you have a CD player that don't work, because the reading optical part is damaged, you can use it as a DAC.

The bottom unit, Tascam CD401-MKII, is just a CD transport to simulate a streamer. The digital converter Philips TDA1541A is on the Marantz CD50.

As always, this is a humble video just to demonstrate some jobs I've done for someone.
