Kay Criswell, PhD, DABT, SBB, MT (ASCP) - Founder and Owner; Independent Consultant, Westbrook Biomarker and Pharma Consulting, LLC

Short Speaker Bio - Kay Criswell received her Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Michigan. She served as the director of laboratory services at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan for 12 years covering transfusion services, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunology, microbiology and flow cytometric services. She joined Warner-Lambert Parke-Davis in 1994 and has assumed positions of increasing responsibility after the merger with Pfizer Global Research & Development. She assumed a role of Executive Director and Drug Safety Research Site Lead for the Groton, CT campus in 2009, including leadership of Investigative Toxicology, Investigative, Pathology, and Safety Biomarkers. Kay served as a member of the Pfizer Kidney Safety Council providing portfolio safety derisking for nephrotoxicity issues and has expertise in hematological and coagulation safety derisking and biomarker support for development of new pharmaceutical products. She has also served as liaison between Drug Safety and Clinical and Discovery teams providing guidance for development of safety biomarkers for early research programs and translation of biomarkers from preclinical safety testing to first in human trials. Kay has had adjunct toxicology teaching positions at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. She currently serves as Managing Director of Westbrook Consulting and provides consultation services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and diagnostic companies.
