Day of the Dead parade 2024.
Krewe de Mayahuel’s 2024 Día de Muertos celebration and cemetary procession in New Orleans. They are also the 1st ever Krewe of Mexican Mardi Gras!
Hello Everyone,
Today we have a treat for you. This is the New Orleans Dia De Los Muertos procession! This is celebration of life and death in New Orleans. In New Orleans culture, along with other cultures such as Haitian culture, and most importantly in this case, Mexican Culture! On All Saints day in New Orleans, the day after Halloween, we come together and clean grave sites of our passed love ones, and honor them! So with similar traditions, the Krewe de Mayahuel', who presents this procession every year, brings together the New Orleans and the Mexican, to have a one of a kind celebration of life.
Every year this celebration and parade has increased from hundreds to thousands of participants. Also you get to honor your loved ones at the beautiful Krewe de Mayahuel’s altar.
A free fiesta, featuring food, dancing, crafts and face painting, will precede the parade in Mickey Markey Park, 3301 Royal St. Activities take place from 3 p.m. until parade lineup time at 6:30 p.m.
Hopefully you can join us next year, as we will be there to bring this wonderful event to you again!
A big thank you to the Krewe de Mayahuel’s for having this free event year after year!
Thank you to everyone for watching!
We love you all!
