"Any instructors who train the Kyiv regime’s troops don’t have any sort of immunity, and it doesn’t matter whether they are French or not. We are continuing the special military operation in conformity with the tasks and goals set by the commander-in-chief."
STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday any foreign military staff training Ukrainian troops would not have any "immunity" from Russian strikes.

"Any instructors who train the Kyiv regime’s troops don’t have any sort of immunity," Peskov said in a conference call with reporters.

International media reports and military officials in Kyiv have suggested talks were ongoing over whether French instructors could soon be sent to support training centres in Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron has previously been more bullish about deploying personnel to Ukrainian territory than his NATO counterparts.
