It has to be remembered that IG is a market maker and the spread is where we make our money but it also important to note that these prices almost mirror the underlying market. I think that particularly for the major currency pairs like the EUR/USD (half a point spread) and major indices, our prices are very competitive. Of course during volatile periods, the spreads could widen but it is pretty impossible to be the most competitive across the whole thousands of markets.
