Ah Creative and me go back a long way... Creative Labs were founded back in 1981 - roughly when I started in technology also. I sold many of their audio cards over the years but left that all behind in 2000. Creative is here to this day and what great gear they still make.

This sound card really could be used in a recording studio, and while I don't show that particularly, its uses are extensive so I created the review for you.

In this review I wanted to show everything about this external sound blaster X4 card as its really offering a device that can basically 'do it all' where sound cards are concerned and with some pretty unique function built right on board that I have never seen on other sound cards before.

So we looked inside at that quality, examined all the I/O and controls and then dived in to looking at the DAC and ADC converters - all really interesting and that Super X-Fi chip is something else.

Later I looked at the software and showed the basic feel and compatibility of the sound card and software just so you know what works. Using the sound card created a likes and dislikes section and of course I rounded it all off with pricing and then a review score out of 10 and this card did very well indeed.

Lastly I asked Harvey, a full on gamer and nephew what his opinion was and show the Creative X4 external sound card being used in the Call of Duty game - don't forget to crank up the video audio to get the full on effects of this card... it is truly incredible.

Interesting this card can be used for almost all audio and even stretches to Dolby 7.1 so its a real winner when it comes to movies too! My guess is that even for a recording studio that you could actually find uses for this device - I know I could!
