http://pixvid.me/BFFHouston2012 In this video, the 2012 Zumiez Best Foot Forward crew rolls up to the Houston, TX stop of the Zumiez Couch Tour during an intense summer heat wave. Like the calm before a storm, the preliminary rounds in this skate competition gave spectators a taste of the madness about to ensue.

The Best Foot Forward finals came down to five skaters who were ready to shred with aggression and the prowess of a pack of mad hyenas: Drake Flores, Jonathan Bastien, George Karvounis, Taylor Jet, and Ben Havran.

George Karvounis took third place with mean tricks down the double set and easy-does-it front blunts on the bump-to-ledge.

Taking second place was Taylor Jet, who also won Transworld's Best Trick award. With a hardflip back lip getting stomped in the nick of time during the best trick mayhem, Taylor killed all in his path. His cross-continental, high-speed antics earned him not only the Best Trick honors, but a spot in the winners' circle.

And the Houston first place winner was Jonathan Bastien. Bastien killed switch 270 lipslides and switch noseblunts down the handrail with authority.

The Zumiez Best Foot Forward contest kept the heat rocked to a sweltering 110 degrees, but that didn't stop the skaters from giving it their all.
