Описание к видео Best Fabric for Screen Print Transfers (Not What You Think)

Ever had your white screen print transfers look dull or discolored on polyester? This video dives into why that happens, explaining dye migration when using plastisol ink on dark polyester garments versus 100% cotton. We test screen print transfers on both fabrics.

We kick things off by comparing a standard white plastisol screen print transfer on a 100% black cotton Gildan shirt and a 100% black polyester Reebok polo. Initially, the results are surprisingly similar, with the polyester holding up well. However, the real issue of dye migration becomes crystal clear when we test the same screen print transfer on a black polyester koozie, which shows significant discoloration of the white ink.

This discoloration is due to dye migration, a common problem where the dye from the polyester fabric bleeds into the ink, making it look faded or tinted. We discuss how the fabric's dyeing process can affect this and why cotton often provides a brighter, more vivid result for standard plastisol inks. While poly blocker inks can be used with screen printing to combat this, we also touch upon how DTF transfers from AMS Transfers inherently avoid dye migration, offering a versatile solution for various fabric types.
