Chechen leader warns Russia will 'take Kyiv' in new offensive

Ramzan Kadyrov has claimed that Russian forces will mount another offensive on Kyiv after they take control of the Donbas region in the east.

The Chechen warlord, a favourite of Vladimir Putin, said in a video posted on his Telegram channel on Sunday night that the attack would encompass all Ukrainian cities.

"There will be an offensive... not only on Mariupol, but also on other places, cities and villages," he said.

"Luhansk and Donetsk – we will fully liberate in the first place... and then take Kyiv and all other cities."
