P38 Range Rover Thor 4.6 - No ignition Key turn 3 Fixed

Описание к видео P38 Range Rover Thor 4.6 - No ignition Key turn 3 Fixed

It rained very heavily for 3 days starting Halloween night 2022. After the sky cleared several days later, the engine no longer started from Key turn position 3?! It was inactive. There was no click, no starter, no fuel. I think water had got into the vehicle, onto the BECM and other areas inside.

The BECM pin 2 rear connector tested good on continuity to the starter output wire from barrell, as did the pin 2 front BECM Yellow connector, which goes to the engine bay fuse box. Since continuity was good on both but nothing happens when turning the key, I knew the BECM had a fault.

I soldered a bypass wire from the Red/White ignition switch, and hooked it up to Pin 2 of the yellow connector on front of BECM, bypassing BECM altogether and allowing engine to start from turn 3.

I did not have engine disabled or any issue with my keyfob during any of this process. I have never had an issue with EKA code etc either. This is purely a BECM issue which arose from water ingress.

There has been no inner desire to 'fix' this issue as all systems work fine. Most likely some items soldered to the BECM board require desoldering and replacing. Maybe diode or relay(s).
