I set out on a journey through the Tohoku region, passing through Niigata along the way. Since it coincided with the start of the rainy season, the first half of the trip was plagued by rain and equipment trouble, so I couldn’t film as much as I had hoped. Fortunately, the weather improved in the second half, and I gradually got used to the new gear I had introduced, which allowed me to resume filming. That said, I noticed a clicking noise in the footage, likely caused by the new bicycle I was using. I’ll need to find a way to fix that moving forward.

I traveled from Akita City to Yokote City, also located in Akita Prefecture.
During the day, I spent time around roadside stores in the city, enjoying the convenience of this compact city where everything from lunch spots to manga cafés and convenience stores was within walking distance.

Near the station, there’s a public facility called “Ao-na” that includes a library, as well as a hotel, making the area seem quite practical for daily life. While there weren’t many people walking around—likely due to the lack of commercial facilities near the station—you can easily reach the main national road on foot, so accessibility didn’t seem to be an issue.
