The Heron Rescue

Saw this little guy looking a bit lost and getting harassed by crows on my way home so posted a picture on Penge Tourist board. Within seconds Kat Curran told me exactly what to do. Called the London Wildlife Protection volunteers on 07909 795064 and uploaded a short video to theor WhatsApp group so they could figure out who to send. About an hour later along came the amazing Ruhee who had just rescued another juvenile heron an hour earlier. We were joined by intrepid Penge passer-by Joe Alford and between the two of them a successful rescue mission was carried out. Apparently this is quite common this time of year so keep an eye out. This little guy is now recovering at the swan Sanctuary and being very well looked after.
