He is a Bangladeshi Swedish investigative journalist whose reporting has exposed the secret detention network operated by DGFI.

In 2007, he was abducted by DGFI, tortured, and forced to flee his homeland with his infant child. He has been labeled everything from a "security threat" to a "CIA asset"; yet his reporting continued to challenge the deep state, ultimately contributing to political pressure that helped bring Bangladesh's authoritarian trajectory into crisis.
