Gotland is an island located in the Baltic Sea, about 100 km off the Swedish mainland. During the summer months it is a major turist attraction, and people come to experience spectacluar nature, vibrant nightlife, idyllic villages and ancient relics. The medieval Hanseatic city of Visby, which is the largest city on the island, is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Scandinavia and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1995.
