Jeff Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this TecNiq red port LED boat navigation light. Now, whenever you're operating your power boat between sunset and sunrise, or in other times of restricted visibility, such as in fog or rain, you need to display the appropriate navigation lights, so that boats can see you and take the appropriate action to avoid any collision. Now, in general, all navigation light systems will include the red, like this one, and the green side lights. These will indicate the port side, the red does.

And then the green, which is the starboard side of your boat, as well as one or more white lights. Now, this one here is a LED red port navigation light, provides increased visibility for your boat. When it's turned on, it does have a range of two nautical miles. Now, we do also sell the green starboard light, which is available on this product page has a related product. The green light is a part number TN85ZR.

Now, if you notice, this has a nice, sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit. Has an IP 68 rating. This is a clear lens over a red LED. Now, what I do wanna mention is at the end of this video, I am gonna connect this light to some 12 volt power just to show you how bright the light is, but I first wanna go over some of its features. It does use a premium LED, which is energy efficient, long-lasting, and vibration resistant.

It is rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation. They do use a military-grade construction of the circuit board on this light. Uses the patented TecSeal potting, which the process ensures a waterproof protection. Now, this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. It is a surface mount installation.

It does require the use of a protective mounting cover. Again, we sell those separate on our website. They are listed on the product page as a related product. And they do come in many different colors like a stainless steel, which I wanna show you right here. I pop up an insert, there's the stainless steel version. They also do it in a black housing. Now, this does hardwire to your application. You can see the two wires here, the power and the ground. The length on the wires is about six inches. A few specs will measure the light itself. So, if we do the width of it is one inch. The overall height, that's gonna be right at 7/8 of an inch. And the overall depth is also right at 7/8 of an inch. Input voltage is nine volts to 14 volts. And what we're gonna do now is go ahead and hook up our power and turn it on. Once we got it hooked up, go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power. And just like that you can see the red LED light up. I wanna turn off the overhead light just to show you how bright a area this LED does light up. And again, this is the port side light. Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. And go ahead and turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this TecNiq red port LED boat navigation light..
