Grab a Boba and get to know my homies from the Decipher podcast! Rictor has been b-boying for over 20 years. He also trained in choreography for a few years and danced with Funks SF. He went on to co direct another choreo team with Mappy called Phoenix Dance Company in the Bay Area.
Mappy is a Bay Area legend! I interviewed him in my very first Boba Talk Episode (I will link to this video)!!! He has been on several freestyle crews, dance teams, and teaches all over the Bay Area.
The Decipher podcast is the product of the two geeking out over dance topics and sharing their viewpoints. We decided to do a collab episode and talked about urban choreography. From music, culture, style, and bboy comparisons/perspectives - I ultimately learned more than I was hoping for. Check out the episode and drop a comment if you feel like!
