Vietnam's best noodles aren't in Hanoi or Saigon! 🇻🇳

Описание к видео Vietnam's best noodles aren't in Hanoi or Saigon! 🇻🇳

🇻🇳 It's been a while since a took a good old fashion road trip here in Vietnam. I used to do it all the time, but I've been a bit of a homeboy these past few months, taking it easy relaxing in Hanoi and Saigon. But alas! Food calls. I've been missing Hai Phong food.

Hai Phong isn't particularly well-known outside of Vietnam, but it's potentially the best in the country. Just 100km outside of Hanoi, and as Vietnam's 3rd largest city, it has cuisine ranging from super diverse styles of noodles to small snacks you've never heard of, all of which I'm trying on this trip! Hai Phong has a special famous dish called "banh da cua", which is a noodle dish made from thick rice noodles and broth made from pork bones and field crabs. It has a ton of delicious toppings, and it a seriously underrated dish in Vietnam, one I prefer more than phở. Hai Phong does it a bit differently as well from the rest of the country, as they make a special red-colored "banh da" noodle.

The red color, as the lady in my video explains, is made from mixing a sugar-based candy syrup with the noodles, which gives it a of a sweet and bitter flavor. It's really delicious.

Here's the address of the shop if you'd like to try:

Go straight ahead from the address 2 Mê Linh about 150m until you see a small entrance with the sign "Lien Huong" into a residential alley. Inside is a small stall called "Bánh Đa Cua Ngô Quyền".

Enjoy!
