Today I would like to share with you an issue I have found with my WINWING F-16EX Viper Grip.

I make announcements for upcoming videos on the CrashMeTwice.com website, Twitter, and Discord.

I get frequently asked if I can make these bushings and sell them to others.
The simple answer is no. The fist reason is that the grips cast's can differ depending on the condition of Winwing's manufacturing tolerances and tooling. So longer the tooling (the form in which cast is made) is used so higher the tolerances. I have given an identical one to mine to a friend and it didn't fit.

The second reason is that I am not set up for any kind of production. I am not a machine shop just a hobbyist. The cost of time making a bushing would take away from my little time I have for my own projects. I am an one man gang, old, retired, and the time available to me is already way too short.

If I would make the bushing and fix for somebody, it would be too expensive and as such upsetting for most people.

But you say, "CrashMeTwice, OK, I am one of the people who just loves the Winwing Orion2 Viper Grip like you do. I have oodles of money but can't measure worth a dime and just want to get it done." Ok, here's the solution: join my discord server and direct message me, and we can chat about it.

Other options:
1. Machine Shop; If budget is no big issue for you and you are able to take your own precise measurements with a good caliper, and make a proper drawing, you could ask your machining buddy to make it for you or get the job done at a machine shop. Be aware that they charge a pretty penny because besides the material you are paying for tooling, set-up, and machining time and all of this adds up quickly. I asked a local shop in my town and they quoted me around 150 to 200 bucks which may differ from shop to shop.
If you are thinking in terms of a pennies item, erase this thought, it is a precision made, one of a kind custom part and that like it or not costs money, just ask NASA :)

2. Bubblegumming;
A forum member who replied to my post on the DCS forum stated that he used M12x16x0.1 mm shims from ebay and used 3 of those and his play was gone. You can try that. Be aware that this fix may still produces a side to side shift on the axis and the hall sensor may or may not be affected by it and could reflect in inaccuracy. I have not tried that fix and thus you are on your own with that.

Well, that's all I have for you on that for now. I hope this helps you to get started on a fix for your grip.
Cheers
