STORYLINE
Bolivian President Evo Morales on Sunday announced the nationalisation of the country's National Company of Railroads (ENFE) during the unveiling of a new tourist circuit.
Morales and accompanying officials were the first passengers of the train locomotive "The Walaycha" which launched the tourist circuit of Lake Titikaka-Guaqui-Tiwanaku.
Morales announced the beginning of the nationalisation of ENFE to a cheering crowd.
"And I want to tell you, this inspires us. It is the beginning of the nationalisation of ENFE, the Empresa Nacional de Ferrocarriles (National Company of Railroads)," he said.
During his speech he said the Bolivian people and companies were being "de-capitalised."
"People who spoke of the capitalisation say to us 'Where is the capitalisation?' There's no capitalisation, but the de-capitalisation of the Bolivian people and our companies," he said.
