Описание к видео Part 132 - Green, red and black engines working on the Burrlington Northern!

This video was an accident, because a random photo from 1970 caused Burr Stewart to "rediscover" his own HO scale model of the unique BN SD24 six-axle train engine. After trying to shove a bunch of cars up a 5% grade without success, Scott Wiesemann takes a great-sounding Bowser PRR Alco RS3 on a "joyride!" Then Dave Enger shows up with a brand new ScaleTrains "Ferromex" AC4400CW locomotive, and then Tim Smith asks him to use it to test some of the first-ever designs of double-stack intermodal well cars. At some point, Burr gives a construction update on the new West Seattle branch that is coming along nicely. Then Scott uses a Blackstone K-27 to shove ten cars up a 2% grade on Burr's narrow gauge line, from "Paradise" to the line's endpoint at "Opportunity." The fun never stops on ‪@muchfunwithtrains‬ !

Burr Stewart's HO scale "Burrlington Northern" model railroad is set in the BN's Seattle region in 1973, three years after the 1970 corporate merger that created the Burlington Northern (BN) Railway out of the Great Northern (GN), Northern Pacific (NP), Burlington Route (CB&Q) and the Spokane, Portland and Seattle (SP&S) railroads. Playing smaller roles on the layout are the three-foot narrow gage (HOn3) D&RGW fictitious "west coast extension", the Milwaukee Road (MILW)'s western extension and the Union Pacific (UP). The Milwaukee Road's "Western Extension" was given trackage rights over the BN from Everett to Bellingham as part of the ICC's approval of the BN merger, so it was common to see MILW trains on the BN mainline along the coast during the 1970's.

You can find more information about the real Burlington Northern Railroad, which operated in the US "Pacific Northwest" between 1970 and 1995 (and the subsequent BNSF and Montana Rail Link (MRL)) by joining the Friends of the Burlington Northern Railroad at https://FOBNR.org . The Great Northern Railway Historical Society is at https://gnrhs.org and the Northern Pacific Historical Association is at https://nprha.org . The Milwaukee Road Historical Association is at https;//mrha.com . All of these volunteer organizations are terrific resources for modeling Pacific Northwest trains in earlier eras.

If you're interested in operating model trains more realistically, check out the resources of (and join!) the Operations Special Interest Group (https://opsig.org) affiliated with the National Model Railroad Association (https://nmra.org).

Many other videos about Burr's HO model train layout (and other layouts that he's visited) are on this channel @muchfunwithtrains, which includes both model and prototype footage of trains, mostly in the Seattle region. Burr took this video's footage with an iPhoneX, and edited it with BlackMagic's Davinci Resolve 20.1 software on a MacBook Pro.
