Admittedly, it feels incredibly difficult to do this consistently in today's world. Most families have two working parents, requiring frequent use of daycare facilities. Other parents will work from home and have to split time with their children and their job. Technology is stealing focus, and family support is non-existent for many families.

All that said, we need to make the time. Our children need this from us, and that secure, attachment relationship is arguably the most important thing for them as they are developing. Good attachment sets up the parent-child relationship for tremendous success that cannot be replicated in any other way.
