As extricating Britain from the EU will be one of the biggest tasks in the country’s history, it will have both positive and negative implications on Gulf States, contingent on these countries respective trade and investment ties with Britain.

The EU has been unable to reach a Free Trade Agreement with the GCC, despite negotiations going back to 1988.
Trade between the UK and GCC already exists in the fields of oil and gas and aerospace and defense, as well as finance and education, however, it is now possible for the UK to strike beneficial bilateral trade deals with Gulf governments.
