Before a hero can find their honour, they must often face a monster. For the storm god Susanoo, that monster had eight heads.

This track tells the epic story of Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the powerful and tempestuous Shinto god of storms and the sea. Exiled from the heavens for his chaotic behaviour, Susanoo wanders the earth and finds a chance at redemption. He encounters a family tormented by the Yamata no Orochi, a colossal eight-headed serpent that demands their daughters as sacrifice. In a display of both courage and cunning, Susanoo tricks the beast with sake before slaying it in a furious battle.

From the monster's tail, he discovers the legendary sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, a blade so magnificent it would become one of the Three Imperial Regalia of Japan—a symbol of the emperor's virtue. This is a classic tale of a flawed god becoming a true hero, and of order triumphing over chaos.
