“Degrassi: The Next Generation” stars Shane Kippel (Spinner) and Melissa McIntyre (Ashley Kerwin) reminisce about the show, share behind-the-scenes stories and answer fan questions at their 2019 London Comic Con Q&A panel moderated by ???. “Degrassi: The Next Generation” is the fourth fictional series in the Degrassi franchise, and succeeded The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Like its predecessors, the show followed a group of students at Degrassi Community School who face various challenges of teenage life, from personal issues such as poor self image and sexual identity to social issues like peer pressure, bullying and teen pregnancy.

Shane Warren Kippel (born June 4th, 1986) is a Canadian actor most famous for portraying Spinner Mason in “Degrassi: The Next Generation.” Shane starred as Chad the Jock in the 2003 film Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. He appeared in 14 episodes of Life With Derek, which starred Michael Seater, Joy Tanner and Jordan Todosey, as the dimwitted but sweet Ralph. He starred in the 2010 film Dog Pound where he played Davis, one of 3 boys sent to a reform school. Kippel also starred in the 2010 short film, Verona, as George, which also starred fellow former Degrassi actors John Bregar and Shannon Kook-Chun, who played Dylan Michalchuk and Zane Park, respectively. He appeared in an episode of Pure Pwnage as Ryan in 2010 as well. He was the drummer in the band SoundSpeed with Degrassi cast members Jamie Johnston, Raymond Ablack, Scott Paterson and Dalmar Abuzeid. He is now the drummer of his band Dear Love.

Melissa Adaleigh McIntyre (born May 31st, 1986) is a Canadian actress who famously portrayed Ashley Kerwin in “Degrassi: The Next Generation.” She was also the subject of a Degrassi Unscripted. Melissa made her TV debut at eleven years old in the series, Timesweep. In 1998, she was cast in another TV series, Real Kids, Real Adventures. After a lengthy absence from the public eye, Melissa resurfaced in mid-2012 as one of three harmony singers in former INXS vocalist JD Fortune's band, simply called Fortune. The band had its debut concert performance at the legendary Stone Pony club in Asbury Park, NJ.
