Playing jazz standards, originals and 20th century classical world music (solo guitar).

Bill Dickman's playing is the result of a refined background in the art of guitar, classical and acoustic alike. Studying at both University of Wisconsin Madison under the tutelage of the Bolivian performer Javier Calderon, as well as at Montana State University- Billings, studying with Elizabeth Adcock. Bill cultivated his interest in baroque music, paying particular attention to the works of J.S. Bach including the lute suites and various other solo transcriptions, as well as Romantic composers such are Dionisio Aguado and Agustin Barrios Manore, and modern composers like Heitor Villa-lobos, Leo Brouwer and Nikita Koshkin.
Non-classical influences include Johnny Cash, Conor Oberst, Emmylou Harris, Radiohead, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Wes Montgomery, Charles Mingus, Pavement, Bob Dylan, Nikko Case, Charlie Parker, Charlie Parr, Duke Ellington, Elvis Costello, Nirvana, Django Reinhardt, Bob Marley and Muddy Waters.
