Mayor Muriel Bowser called on the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday to join the U.S. Senate in passing a bill that would prevent the city from having to make about a billion dollars in budget cuts between now and October 1.

The mayor warned that without the help of the U.S. House, the city would have to cut big budget items like police, fire, schools, and health care.
