Heat rocks can burn your reptiles. I threw my heat rock away and bought a proper heat mat that was placed under the terrarium. Luna was never burned by this rock in any way, but the rock was disposed of to prevent any risk of her getting hurt.

I have been placing my hand in my leopard gecko's enclosure for about a week now.. my leo rarely runs from me now. I believe my leo is less than a month old. I got my leopard gecko on December 27th, and he/she was the smallest one out of all of them at Petco. I have been after a mack snow, and I was lucky to find only one at Petco for a sale price of $15. Please excuse my awkward voice... I heard that talking to your leos softly helps them adjust more to you. I have taken the hides out for the taming process, so don't worry. It came to my surprise he/she stretched his/her arm back and relaxed on my hand for a bit :) I am also not sure what gender my leo is right now because it is too young... but so far I am going with a female. If you have any other advice on the taming process or if I am doing something wrong, please comment. The more advice and tips, the happier and healthier my gecko is. :) Thank you~!
