Ultherapy has a bad rep, I'll admit that, so I was a little apprehensive giving it a try. With a self-perceived low tolerance for pain , the regret of voluntarily signing up for Ultherapy tinged a little as I was walking into the clinic.

However, as we age, I think it is important to start preventive anti-aging measures while we still can. I'm starting to see the signs, the saggy jowls, and the nasolabial lines (the lines from the nose to the corners of your mouth) are starting to show, and don't even get me started on my 11 frown lines, those have plagued me for forever!

With that in mind, I'm super glad I gave Ultherapy a try. I'd already known that the concept and application was very similar to HIFU, and, in my mind, was somewhat like HIFU on steroids. More discomfort, but also a lot more results.

If you don't know what Ultherapy is , Ultherapy is a non-invasive, skin-tightening and lifting treatment using ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of collagen. To be completely honest, the discomfort was not as intense as I had expected. The psychological fear of the pain though, was off the charts. In other words, if pain and discomfort are the only reasons stopping you from getting the Ultherapy treatment you really want, then you should not let it stop you! The discomfort was completely manageable, and I felt very taken care of in the good hands of Dr Terence Tan.
