I don’t look into the past all that often.

Ex-lovers, former friends… they’re in the past for a reason.

My wife, on the other hand, she loves looking up old boyfriends. She always giggles as she does so, telling me the sordid details of their lives.

Every example I gave—weight gain, jail, and multiple divorces—are all from her past.

She was a little surprised when she found out I don’t look up old girlfriends, and got the bug in her but to do so herself.

But only one of them; the one that mattered most to her: the one right before her.

(There was a year-gap between the women, for what it’s worth.)

Man, I should’ve done that years ago!

Talk about dodging bullets!

Whenever you’ve been dumped, doesn’t matter that you eventually get over them, you still got let go.

They didn’t want you.

Which means it’s nice to be able to, even if in private, smile to yourself and think, “And how’d that work out for ya?”

(Bonus points to anyone who catches the movie reference I slipped into this one.)
