About eDAR / iRAD
e‑DAR (Electronic Detailed Accident Report), formerly known as iRAD (Integrated Road Accident Database), is India’s first National Road Accident Database launched by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and funded by the World Bank. This unified digital system integrates key stakeholder departments—Police, Health, Transport, PWD/NHAI—to enable real-time reporting, evidence-based policymaking, and enhanced road safety for a “Safe Road for All” India All 36 states and union territories joined the eDAR/iRAD ecosystem as of November 2022 implemented by NIC/NICSI, it facilitates GPS-tagged crash reporting, scene photos/videos, and API-linked extraction of vehicle & driver information from VAHAN/SARATHI databases
