The city of Bengaluru is popularly known as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’ in light of its role as the nation's leading software exporter and a major semiconductor hub. Bengaluru is home to numerous IT parks - a major one being Electronic City!

Part of South-East Bengaluru, Electronic City is one of India’s largest IT parks. Hundreds of multinational IT and ITES companies operate from here, the prominent ones being: Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL, Tech Mahindra and the list goes on. Being a tech corridor, the neighbourhood is an amalgamation of all sorts of people, from various parts of the country and the world.

Electronic City has an efficient infrastructure with regard to connectivity to other prime localities of Bengaluru. Good connectivity is offered via Hosur Road and NICE Road. Effective public transport facilities are in place and are likely to improve with metro connectivity through the under-construction Line 3 (RV Road-Bommasandra) of Namma Metro Phase 2, which is expected to be completed this year.

Social infrastructure facilities are decent. Housing options are varied and cater to all categories of home seekers. If the properties within the neighborhood seem costly to some, home buyers can move to peripheral areas that are witnessing good development.

However, since the neighbourhood still comes under the panchayat limits, while prominent multi-story and gated societies might have a provision for parks and playgrounds, the same cannot be said about all the sub-localities. This is applicable even for the condition of internal roads and other basic civic infrastructure facilities such as footpaths and garbage disposal.
