Use PowerPoint to show breaking news anywhere. Choose a RSS feed of your favorite news channel. It is very easy to set up and it has automatic updates on your screen.

First of all we add a news channel to our list. We want to use images so we will ignore articles without images. We scan for new articles every 5 minutes and each news headline is displayed for four seconds. That is it.

We then use a text box and link it to our source, set the column to title. Now we have the first article on our slide.
Now let’s add a picture. Click Insert, Pictures and select a default image to start with.
Now at the task pane we select our feed and choose the column named MediaThumbnailURL and the image is linked to the image of the headline. Resize it for full screen and put the text on top.
Let’s set a gradient on the text box and make it transparent.

That’s all we need. Now start the slide show and we will see all articles in a 4 second interval. During the slide show the add-on will scan the source for new news.
