What is the most important aspect of photography to you?

Описание к видео What is the most important aspect of photography to you?

And there is no "right" answer. It is part of the fabric of this art.

I have friends who consider the technical issues most important. Sharpness, color purity, and noiseless (or grainless) images. That is what floats their photographic boat.

For others I know it is composition. Looking for a distinguishing POV, or perfect foreground/background.

And there are other criteria that one will find devotees of when we go to talk about a photograph.

For me it is authenticity (hard to define, but I know it when I see it... heh), and emotional connection. I have never been all that bent on the technical (although I do not think it would be good to challenge me, I KNOW a lot of technical and use a lot of technical, it just isn't the overriding aspect of whether a photograph is great to me.)

And I don't think that there is any one aspect that is correct either. Not at all. Whatever works for you, and keeps you making images is fantastic. Keep on doing it.

What do you think about when you first go to make a photograph, or to critique a photograph? Is it technical? Is it composition? Is it lighting? Is it emotional connection?

Share below if you would be so kind.
