Ripon Mondol and Shipra Mondol fled Bangladesh in January 2025, months after the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government in August 2024, when targeted attacks against Hindus intensified in their region.
What finally forced them to escape was a horrific incident—
a Hindu man from their area was beaten so brutally that his intestines came out, sending a clear message to the few remaining Hindu families: leave or die.
With only a handful of Hindu households left, the entire community fled.
But this escape came at an unimaginable cost.
Ripon had to leave his 16-year-old daughter behind and old mother.
Fearing abduction and sexual violence—something that has plagued fleeing Hindu families for decades—his sister warned him that taking a teenage girl through night jungle routes to India was extremely dangerous. Countless families have faced such tragedies in the past.
So a father crossed the border to save his family…
while his daughter remains trapped across closed borders.
Today, this family in India has nothing.
No money. No clothes. No shelter.
Even the clothes they wear were given by neighbors.
Their requests are simple and humane:
A safe home
An e-rickshaw to earn a livelihood
Visa access for the daughter and elderly mother to reunite the family
This video exposes the grave humanitarian violations faced by minorities in Bangladesh—violations the world continues to watch in silence.
At Hindu Samman Foundation (HSF), we believe that change does not begin with governments—it begins with people.
Democracy belongs to citizens, yet Hindu society has never been taught its own collective strength.
If global Hindu society stands up first, institutions and governments will follow.
