Valiyathodu

The protection and rejuvenation of the VALIYA THODU, which is the lifeblood of Mattathur Gram Panchayat, was always a dream. About 19 km of canal has been taken up for rejuvenation through the project which was started from 2022-23. At present, 13 km of cleaning has been completed. Many areas that were inundated even by light rains have escaped unscathed this monsoon. Rs.1499869 have been spent so far. An additional Rs 12 lakh has been earmarked this year for completion of cleaning and renovation and for side wall protection , a better project is under scrutiny of Soil Conservation Department.
