AlpenX2022, Etappe 12: Von der Pfandleralm nach Meran

Unsere Abschlussetappe auf dem europäischen Fernwanderweg E5 startete an der Pfandleralm und führte uns zunächst 700m steil hinauf auf einen Höhenweg, wo wir die Richtung zur Hirzer Seilbahn einschlugen. Hinter der Mahdalm (2000m üNN) wanderten wir zur Hinteregg Alm und von dort nicht, wie eigentlich geplant, zur Bergstation der Hirzer Seilbahn, sondern 500m talwärts nach Prenn zur Mittelstation der Seilbahn. Hier stiegen wir, von der italienischen Sommerhitze arg mitgenommen, in die Gondel ein und schwebten ins Tal nach Saltaus. Von hier ging es mit einem kurzen Bustransfer in die gelobte Stadt, nach Meran. Zufällig ergab es sich, dass unser Sohn Sven mit dem Joscho Stephan Trio am Abend einen Konzertauftritt auf dem Schloss Tirol hatte. Also machten wir uns noch auf ins Dorf Tirol zum malerischen Schloss und beendeten unsere Tour mit dem Besuch eines tollen Jazzkonzerts. Nach einen Übernachtung im antiken Hotel Rössl Bianco ging es am nächsten Morgen mit der Bahn zurück von Merano in die Heimat. Our final stage on the E5 European long-distance hiking trail started at the Pfandleralm and initially took us 700m steeply up a mountain path, where we headed in the direction of the Hirzer cable car. Behind the Mahdalm (2000m above sea level) we hiked to the Hinteregg Alm and from there not, as actually planned, to the mountain station of the Hirzer cable car, but 500m down the valley to Prenn to the middle station of the cable car. Here, badly hit by the Italian summer heat, we boarded the gondola and floated down into the valley to Saltusio. From here we took a short bus transfer to Meran, the promised city. By chance it happened that our son Sven had a concert performance with the Joscho Stephan Trio at the Tyrolean Castle in the evening. So we went to the village of Tirol to the picturesque castle and ended our tour with a visit to a great jazz concert. After an overnight stay in the antique Hotel Rössl Bianco, we took the train back home from Merano the next morning. Enjoy our final stage and thanks for watching and supporting!
