City Fighter IV Sound: The World Warrior (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео City Fighter IV Sound: The World Warrior (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Towa Soft's 1993 unlicensed versus-fighting game for the NES, City Fighter IV Sound: The World Warrior.

This video shows two separate playthroughs of the game. The first is played with Chun Li, and the second (beginning at 7:40) with Zangief.

Given the awesome Engrish text provided for each of the characters' endings, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to hit the two characters that I didn't play as in my video of Street Fighter II (    • Street Fighter II: The World Warrior ...   ).

City Fighter IV Sound: The World Warrior, aside from an utterly ridiculous title, is essentially the same game as Yoko Soft's 1992 original unlicensed NES adaptation of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. The biggest feature here, if the title didn't make it crystal clear for you already, is the addition of "sound." I'm not sure who Towa Soft is, but it's probably a safe bet that they aren't Yoko Soft, and probably just hacked the original game code to add in the new "SOUND."

Not that the original game did not have sound, but this one adds digital samples into the mix. Most of them are taken directly from the official SF2 games. It is pretty funny when they are added in unexpected places, though - for instance, M. Bison... err, sorry... "Viga," now announces "Yoga Fire!" when doing some of his special moves. I'm not sure why, but it's pretty funny, so I'll just let it be.

Chun Li screams, "Yatta!" once again, Ryu has his "Hadouken!" yell, and everyone lets out these hilariously loud screams when they get hit. Well, except for Chun Li. There apparently isn't a woman's scream sample in the game, though I have to admit I'm a bit surprised they just didn't give her the male screaming voice.

I think I probably like this even more than Street Fighter II, and only because of the added "feature." The screaming and yelling really does add a whole new level of camp to the thing, and who doesn't like to laugh as they're being beaten to a pulp?
