Everything you need to know about West Point SLE from 2023 + rare look at Fort Putnam

My name is Natalie and I had the chance to see West Point during the 2nd session of Summer Leader’s Experience 2023.

Due to a lot of unprecedented issues with editing I wasn’t able to finish this project until a year after I went, but here’s my nearly hour long video of everything my squad and I experienced 😁

If you’re here because you plan on attending congrats! If not I hope this gives you an idea of the kind of environment the Military Academy offers its Cadets.

To give you a post SLE update, I went through the nomination process by applying for one from each of my CA Senators for West Point and one from my local Congressman for the Naval Academy. Both schools offer Letters of Appoinment/Assurance which are essentiall like early application results so stay on top of your service academy apps because they’ve got a lot of extra steps!!

4 of my squad members are going to USMA and I’m going to USNA so that makes about half of us going into service academies. The kids at SLE were pretty competitive high school applicants and I know 2 guys going to MIT from my session just for example.

I’m not sure how many times I’ve said something like this but I’m very grateful for having had the opportunity to learn a multitude of things from this week-long program.
