This is how The Hype Bros split up. In December 2016, Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley were in a battle royal for a chance at the Smackdown Tag Titles. Ryder returned six months later in June 2017 and told Rawley they have unfinished business as a team. A week later, they wanted a shot at the tag titles and Daniel Bryan said if they beat the champions, they will get a shot. They faced The Usos, where Jimmy hit Ryder with a splash to win the match. Through the next months, they lost to The Usos. They lost to Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. They lost to The New Day. To The Usos once again. To Gable and Shelton again. In November 2017, they lost to The Bludgeon Brothers. A week later, they lost again. Then Rawley attacked Ryder and he had to be stopped by the officials, thus disbanding the team. Then they met on the Clash of Champions kickoff. Rawley hit Ryder with the Killer Instinct to win the match. They met again three weeks later on Smackdown in a tournament. Rawley hit Ryder with the Killer Instinct to win the match and to end everything.
