More than 400-years after the first English settlers arrived in America; history is once again being made very close to the same spot where the “first landing” occurred in 1607. The Virginia Beach Fire Department along with Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story has officially opened a joint fire station on base. This is the first joint venture of its kind, ever! Despite the historical significance of this joint federal / municipal fire station, both parties agree the added protection it affords both the military and civilian populations in this area of Virginia Beach are even more important.
